"After several years in the mechanical engineering industry, I realized that I needed a change. I wasn’t sure as to what exactly I wanted to do, but I knew that I had an affinity for 3D modeling and design. It was then that I made a tough decision to go back to school to pursue a new career. Naturally, video game development was a perfect fit for my interests. It balances both technical and artistic know-how leading to a truly tangible result.
Now that I’ve finished the program, I can definitely look back and say that everything I’ve learned is relevant and has been applied where I’ve worked. Also, I keep close contact with my classmates and with my instructor who still provide me with new tips and tricks. They are a talented group of people who am I so lucky to have as my friends.
I can tell you that if you choose this program, you will not regret it one bit. You will work very hard in this program and there will be those sleepless nights (I’m still trying to catch up). But, you will learn a whole lot more — your skills will grow tenfold. Most importantly, you will make a lot of friends, develop a strong network and have lots of fun while doing it all!”
I was hired at the end of my internship by the Town Crier group of newspapers and magazines. At the end of May 2011, I will have been with the Town Crier for a year as both a reporter and copy editor.
I’m glad to see so many people doing well post-graduation, and I’ve even heard Centennial journalism being talked about in the newsroom as a place that’s becoming known for putting out great talent. It’s very encouraging to see.
